Term 6
This term, our school focus is: Health
Our text this term is 'Iron Man' by Ted Hughes. The children will begin by exploring the events at the start of the story and writing a narrative inspired by the opening chapters. Later in the term, they will use their creativity and instructional writing skills to produce a set of instructions explaining how to slay the Space-Bat-Angel-Dragon, linked to events in the story.
Within maths, we will be learning about time, including digital time and time in hours and minutes. We will also learn about graphs for collecting data and presenting it in different ways. We will finish the year with some work on 2D shapes. ​
In science, we will be exploring 'Animals including Humans'. The children will learn about nutrition, nourishment, the skeleton and muscles.​
Children will have athletics on a Tuesday, and swimming on a Friday. Therefore, please ensure your child is dressed appropriately with the correct equipment for these activities.
Homework
- Don't forget to practise multiplication facts at home on TTRockstars (Times Tables Rock Stars: Play)
- Ensure you listen to your child read each night and then sign the reading record.
- Atom (targeted maths learning).
